What Is Penrose Editorial?
Penrose Editorial was born from a simple but pressing need: Too many Christian writers feel called to share their stories but don’t know how to navigate the path to publishing. Some have half-finished manuscripts tucked away in drawers. Others have tried once before, only to be left discouraged by confusing industry standards or poor past experiences.
We knew there had to be a better way— a Christ-centered way.
At Penrose, we believe writing isn’t just about producing books—it’s about stewarding the stories God has placed on your heart. That’s why we combine professional editorial services with Bible-based coaching and a faith-filled community. Our goal is to meet you right where you are—whether you’re working on a teaching book, a memoir, a novel, or a children’s story—and walk with you step by step until your vision becomes a book you’re proud to share.

Kalea Ellison
Founder, Editor-in-Chief, Coach
Hi, I’m Kalea Ellison, the founder of Penrose Editorial!
I started Penrose because I’ve been exactly where you are—passionate about writing, yet unsure how to close the gap between an idea and a finished book. Over the years, I’ve worked with many authors across many genres—Christian living, memoir, fiction, children’s literature, and more—and I’ve seen firsthand how clarity, encouragement, and accountability can transform the writing process.
I’m a multi-published author myself and a coach who helps writers find both discipline and delight in their work. My approach blends detailed editorial expertise with biblical mindset coaching, making sure you’re equipped not just to finish a book but to thrive as an author for years to come.
A few fun facts: I’m a lifelong lover of fantasy worlds (ask me about Brandon Sanderson and I’ll talk your ear off), a color-coded-planner enthusiast, and a firm believer that matcha lattes fuel my entire life. When I’m not editing or coaching, you’ll probably find me ears-deep in an audiobook, serving on the worship team at my church, dreaming up a new story, or cheering on other writers as they take brave steps toward their goals.
Olivia Wagoner
Hi, I’m Olivia—an editor, writing coach, and lifelong teacher at heart. My passion has always been helping people understand. I love the challenge of finding the right way to explain something for each individual, because everyone learns differently. Discovering someone’s strengths and helping that person succeed is one of my favorite things in the world, and it’s the foundation of how I coach and edit.
I’m also a musician, and I serve on my church worship team as a vocalist—music is a big part of my life! At home, you’ll often find me unwinding with my acoustic guitar, cooking, painting, or spending time with the friends who feel like family.
I’ve lived in seven different states, and my dream is to travel everywhere and taste all the food. Whether I’m helping a writer gain clarity or cheering someone on, I love being part of people’s journeys toward their goals.

Andrea Matthews
Hey, I’m Andrea, and I’m on a mission to convince everyone I meet to own their story. Yes, that includes you! I grabbed hold of this gem called storytelling when I was a kid and haven’t let it go. From rambling in home videos to the refining hustle of TV news and the privilege of guiding authors on their publication journey, I have more confidence than ever that just one story can change the world. That truth fuels me to champion people to embrace what the Lord has done in their lives and encourage them to walk boldly in what he has for their future. While I assist authors in a practical way through ghostwriting, editing, and coaching, many of my clients refer to me as their personal cheerleader. Whether you decide to actually publish a book or not, if you can walk away from a meeting with confidence to fully own your story, I consider that a win for you and the Kingdom!
